The accounts of Thomas Sampson parish bailiff between May 1677 and 1678 and those of John Clapp bailiff between May 1678 and 1680. Receipts from rents and payments, including from schoolhouse shop and the market, made for support of the poor and widows, and for services received. Includes payment for setting up a sundial and cleaning and re-stocking the parish muskets. Payment of taxes including a hearth money and a great tax. Repairs to bridges, the schoolhouse and the maintenance of the water supply. Payments made to the constables and for keeping the gaols and hospital, ringing for the 5th November.
